🌷 The Little Things We Forget to Thank
You know, sometimes I feel like we forget how lucky we actually are. Not because we’re ungrateful people, but because it’s just how humans are. We notice what’s missing more than what’s already there.
Just yesterday, I had a small moment that made me realize this. A day before, I was craving Dosa and Sambar from a specific restaurant. It wasn’t a big thing, just a passing thought in my head. And somehow, the next day, I actually got it! I remember smiling to myself while eating it and thinking, wow, that’s exactly what I wanted. It may sound silly, but it hit me how often things like this happen and how rarely we stop to appreciate them.
We keep waiting for big things to make us happy, the perfect marks, dream college, perfect life, and in that waiting, we forget to notice the tiny blessings that already surround us. Like your mom remembering your favorite food, a random text from someone who made your day, or just lying down after a long, exhausting day.
And then there’s another side to it. We keep looking at people who have more than us, instead of realizing how many people would do anything to have what we already have. It’s a bit sad when you think about it. Some people don’t even have what we take for granted, a peaceful night’s sleep, a warm meal, or a safe home.
I guess gratitude isn’t about pretending everything’s perfect. It’s about quietly saying, “Thank you,” even for the small things. It’s about realizing that life doesn’t owe us anything, yet it keeps giving us moments to smile about.
So maybe next time something nice happens, even if it’s as small as getting your favorite Dosa, pause for a second, breathe, and be thankful. Because maybe that’s the universe’s tiny way of reminding us that you already have more than you think. 🌼
